My surgery
At the end of March, during a football game, a defender crashed into me. I felt pain, but I kept playing. My knee felt weird, though, and I knew something was off.
Then, on another action, I went to control and recover the ball, put my foot down, and just collapsed in pain.
I went straight to the ER. The X-ray showed nothing broken, which was a relief, but also didn’t really explain what I had just felt.
A few days later, I got an MRI.
And then, days after that, the result came back: ACL rupture.
I won’t lie, that hit hard.
No football. The Wide Event coming soon. Surgery to do.And in the middle of all that, one question looping in my head: how am I going to manage this?
So I booked the surgeon for the very next day.
He explained everything clearly: surgery, crutches for weeks, and no football for 9 months. I chose the earliest possible surgery date because I wanted at least a chance to be minimally okay for The Wide Event.
On Friday April 17, I had the surgery.
Thankfully, it went well.
Now we are exactly 1 month away from The Wide Event, and honestly, I didn’t think it would be this hard. I’m tired, rehab is a lot, and every day takes more energy than I expected.
But I’m going to do my maximum to be there fully for The Wide Event.
And if I end up on stage with crutches… at least we’ll get some funny photos out of it 😂
App Store Pulse
In the last edition of the newsletter, I talked about a free audit you could do with App Store Pulse. Since then, I’ve kept improving the tool to turn it into something I wish I had earlier, and honestly, something I still want for my own apps today.

The goal is simple: track what is happening on the Shopify App Store so you can optimize your listing and increase the number of installs coming from the App Store.
Right now, App Store Pulse lets you track keywords daily and see where you stand on those keywords compared to competitors. You can follow the evolution of your app and competing apps on specific keywords, find keyword difficulty and search volume, and spot keyword opportunities where competitors rank but you do not simply because you have not added those keywords yet.
It also tracks every listing change from competitors, whether that is a new image, a pricing change, a description update, a logo change, or more. You get those notifications directly in the dashboard and through a daily email. The same goes for keyword ranking changes, with a daily email that helps explain what changed.
Another part I find especially useful is the ability to compare competitors’ listings side by side with yours, including prices, descriptions, and metrics, so you can benchmark apps quickly and see where you stand without wasting time jumping between tabs.
There is also a Listing Optimizer that regularly analyzes your listing and gives feedback on how to improve the design and the text.
And I’m not stopping there.
What I want to build next is just as important: finding category opportunities, understanding how categories evolve, seeing which categories have more or less demand, following trends, and getting a better sense of where to build. I also want to add automatic customer review analysis so you can find market opportunities and understand what to build next. And over time, I want to link all of this to actual changes, so if a competitor gains positions on a keyword, you can start understanding what may have triggered it and get a much clearer view of how the algorithm works.
That is really the ambition behind App Store Pulse: to concretely create the Ahrefs of the Shopify App Store.
If you want to check it out, go to appstorepulse.com. There is a free version, and there is also a paid launch-price version that is very attractive for early users.
(It’s still not an official launch!
Wide Event
The Wide Event is now less than one month away, and if you have not taken your ticket yet, I really encourage you to do it now at wide-event.com.
We have been preparing a lot for this edition, and I can tell you that it is going to be really cool. There is a lot of energy behind it, a lot of care in what is being put together, and I truly think it will be a great moment to be there with us.
So if you were still hesitating, this is probably the moment to stop waiting and make it happen.
And if you need an invitation letter later for your visa, do not hesitate to ask.
