$2,500 MRR for App Store Pulse

Two months ago, App Store Pulse did not exist.

Today, it just crossed $2,500 MRR.

What makes me happiest is not really the revenue.

It is seeing how much the product has evolved in such a short amount of time.

The original goal was simple: help Shopify app founders understand what is happening on the App Store.

Since then, we have added a lot.

You can now track your MRR, revenue, churn, installs, and traffic alongside your App Store analytics, so everything is in one place.

One feature I am especially excited about is international keyword tracking.

Your ranking is not the same in France, Germany, the US, or Japan. Until now, it was difficult to understand how visible your app really was around the world.

Now you can track your keywords across different countries and see exactly where you are winning and where you still have opportunities.

Another feature I really wanted to build is something that explains why your rankings change.

Instead of simply telling you that you moved from position 8 to position 5, App Store Pulse now analyzes what happened.

Maybe a competitor received a lot of reviews.

Maybe another app updated its listing.

Maybe you simply need around 6 new reviews every week to reach the next position.

The goal is not only to show data.

It is to tell you what to do next.

We also launched an MCP server.

If you use Claude, you can now connect App Store Pulse directly and ask questions in plain English.

Questions like:

"What features are users asking my competitors for?"

"What features do my competitors have that I don't?"

"How many reviews should I receive every week to reach the top 5 on this keyword?"

Or simply:

"What should I improve first?"

I think AI becomes much more useful when it has access to your actual business data instead of generic knowledge.

There is still a lot coming.

My ambition has not changed since day one.

I want to build the Ahrefs of the Shopify App Store.

Partnership with Shoffi

One thing I have always enjoyed is building alongside other founders.

That is why I am happy to announce that App Store Pulse is now partnering with Shoffi.

Both products solve different problems, but for the same people: Shopify app founders.

App Store Pulse helps you understand what is happening on the Shopify App Store.

Shoffi helps you grow outside of it.

If you have not heard about them yet, Shoffi lets you launch an affiliate program for your Shopify app in just a few minutes.

Instead of managing affiliates manually, everything is handled automatically.

Tracking, commissions, payouts, agencies, creators, freelancers, referrals...

Everything is centralized in one place.

Affiliate marketing is still one of the most underused acquisition channels for Shopify apps.

Many founders focus only on App Store traffic or paid ads.

But having people actively recommending your app can become a huge growth channel over time.

I think App Store Pulse and Shoffi complement each other really well.

One helps you get discovered.

The other helps people recommend you.

2,000 new apps every month

One statistic surprises a lot of people.

In June, around 2,000 new apps were published on the Shopify App Store.

At first, that sounds terrifying.

It feels like competition is getting impossible.

But honestly, I do not think that number should scare you.

Most of those apps will never get any traction.

Many will never receive their first review.

Some will be abandoned after a few weeks.

Others are simply experiments.

When you look at the data, you quickly realize that your competition is not really those 2,000 new apps.

Your competition is the small percentage of founders who consistently improve their product and keep listening to users.

That makes things much more achievable.

For many keywords, receiving just a handful of reviews already puts you ahead of the majority of apps.

Sometimes five reviews are enough.

When you think about it like that, growing suddenly feels much less overwhelming.

Do not focus on the number of apps being published.

Focus on building something people genuinely enjoy using.

If your users are happy, reviews will come.

And once reviews come, visibility follows.

Keep solving real problems.

The rest becomes much easier.
