BSSA #82 - Shopify App Stars #1 - Tips by Riccardo 🚀
Hola! 👋
What a blast!! 🤩
Since I decided to reach 10,000 subscribers to this newsletter in 2024, the growth exploded! ❤️
This is what happens when you:
Fix a clear objective
List all your daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to reach it
If you wanna help me reach that craaaazy goal before the end of the year there is one thing you can do for me 🙏
Forward this newsletter to 2 people (friends, business partners, etc)
If all the people there do it, we can DOUBLE the number of subscribers in a week! 🥳
Well, now the content! This is the 2nd email of the year so here we go.
For today’s magical content we’ll see:
I bought a ring to improve my sleep
How I built and grew WideBundle from $0 to $57,000 per month (Video)

I bought a ring to improve my sleep
I have a terrible sleep. And a few weeks ago I saw a tweet about someone showing some statistics from Whoop. 📊
It’s a product you put at your wrist to track your body metrics (And I love metrics haha, except here it’s not Mixpanel).
And after chatting with Mario Peshev about it, he told me that if I wanted to track my sleep, the best solution was something else: Oura.
I checked their website and the idea was simple:
A ring that you wear 24/24 and 7/7 to track your vital metrics. And it was really good for sleep.
And as an entrepreneur, our health is our primary tool. Without a good sleep, you can’t be productive. When you’re an employee it’s not a big deal, but when you have to think about a thousand things, it becomes a problem.
I decided to give it a try. 🤔
But I’m sorry, I won’t be able to tell you how it is at the moment. I just received it today!
The goal is to improve my sleep. And even though I haven’t tried it yet, it looks pretty cool! 😎
How I built and grew WideBundle from $0 to $57,000 per month
For those who don’t know, I created a YouTube channel a few weeks ago.
And we just reached 200 subscribers. 🥳
The point of this is that I am working on a very big video: How I built and grew WideBundle from $0 to $57,000 per month.
This is what people are interested in. So I decided to create a big video about it.
It’s not available yet. But I need you to create it. 😁
What are the different things you ABSOLUTELY want to see in this video?
I want to be transparent and I want this video to be so good you would pay for it. 🥵
You can reply to this email and I will add those to the video!
My new point of view about the badge “Built for Shopify”
I had a very simple point of view about this badge.
If you were a new Shopify App or a small one: Go and get it asap.
If you were a bigger Shopify App: Forget about it.
But it was months ago and my point of view changed. 🫨
It didn’t make sense to spend time on something if you already had users, a roadmap, and a good ranking. Especially when it takes a lot of time.
And during the first months the impact wasn’t so bad on bigger apps.
But it seems like it has changed. Built For Shopify has a really good impact when you have it. Even on bigger apps. 🫵
Now, if you don’t rely on the Shopify App Store at all, it doesn’t make sense (for example, for Shopify Plus apps). But if it’s still one of your channels, even if not the primary, it becomes interesting.
That is why I personally decided to start working on it. 💪
5 mistakes made by new Shopify Apps on their listing
I received this question on X last week
And every time I receive this question, I notice the same problems with the App Listing.
So here we go for the top 5 mistakes. 👇
Mistake 1: Targeting competitive keywords
When you start on the App Store you're small. You can't compete with other big apps on their keywords.
Go for long-tail keywords.
